Find your way around
A tour of the dashboard, the rail down the left and the bar across the top — the numbers, buttons and menus you'll use most.
Signing in takes you to the dashboard, unless you followed a link to somewhere else in the app, in which case we send you back there. The dashboard holds this week's work, today's schedule and four quick actions.
If your dashboard looks empty
Until you have a class, the dashboard is one screen that says "No classes yet" with a single Add Class button. The greeting, the numbers and the lists below all arrive with your first class.
Schedule and Classes
Two tabs sit at the top. Schedule is where you start: this week's work on the left, today's hours on the right. Classes swaps both out for one card per class. Your browser remembers which tab you were on, so a different browser or device starts fresh.
Next to the tabs you might see "Get the iOS app — reminders when assignments are due, change, or get added." Download opens the App Store; Dismiss hides it for the current browser session.
Your greeting and this week's numbers
The card underneath shows today's day of the week, greets you by name, and carries three numbers you can click:
- due today — everything due today, finished or not.
- this week — everything due Monday through Sunday of the week you're in, finished or not.
- overdue — only the work you haven't finished from a day that's already gone by.
Click a number to open the list behind it, titled with the count in parentheses: Due today (4), This week (11), Overdue (2). Every row shows the assignment, its class and its date, with a checkbox to Mark complete or Mark incomplete. Close puts the list away.
To the right, the dial labeled This Week fills in one slice for each assignment due this week that you've marked complete, in that class's color.
The four buttons
Under the greeting, in order:
- Upload to Locker opens your Locker, where notes, slides and other class material live.
- Add Class opens Add Classes. Link LMS (marked Pro) pulls your work in from Canvas, Blackboard or another LMS, and Upload Syllabi builds a class from a syllabus file. At your class limit, the button opens Class limit reached instead.
- Color Preset opens Choose Color Preset, the palette your classes take their colors from.
- Sync to Calendar asks which calendar app you use: Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar. Google connects to your account; the other two subscribe with a private link.
Color Preset has no save button
Clicking a palette changes your class colors right away. If you're only browsing, leave with Close.
To-do this week
To-do this week is every dated assignment in the current week, earliest first, with a counter for how many you've finished out of the week's total. Completed work stays in the list with a line through it, so nothing reshuffles while you're checking things off. When nothing is due, it reads "Nothing due this week 🎉".
Each row has a checkbox, the class emoji, the assignment, its class, an Overdue flag once its due day has passed, and the date as "Fri 8/21". The three-dot Assignment actions menu at the end has Edit, where you change the name, due date or time, and Delete, which asks you to confirm.
Only assignments with a due date show up here. Anything undated waits on its class page until you give it one; see assignments & due dates.
Today's schedule
On the right, or below the list on a phone, Today lays the day out hour by hour with your class meetings and time blocks in their slots. Previous day and Next day move you a day at a time, and the heading swaps from Today to that day's name. An empty day reads "No classes or timeblocks today". Once you've connected Google Calendar, timed events from your other Google calendars show up here too; all-day events don't.
The Classes tab
Classes gives each class a card: how many assignments it has and how many are done, what's due next with its date, and the percentage you've finished. Click the card to open the class. Hover it and a three-dot Class actions button appears in the corner, with Change color, Edit name & emoji, Archive and Delete. Classes walks through each, including how to delete a class from the phone app.
The left rail
On a wide screen the rail starts as icons — Expand navigation shows the labels and Collapse navigation puts them back. On a phone, Open sidebar slides the same list in and Close dismisses it. Top to bottom:
- Locker — your Materials, Duedles, Flashcards and Practice Tests. Duedles is free on every plan; the other three depend on yours.
- Dashboard — this page.
- Duey — chat about your classes and your work.
- Classes — opens your class list inside the rail; pick one to go to it.
- Brain Dump — talk through what you've got on, then save the time blocks we suggest.
- Due Soon — what's coming next across every class, with a class filter and Show Overdue.
- Calendar — your classes, assignments and time blocks by month, week, day or agenda.
- Settings — pinned at the bottom. Your avatar at the top of the rail goes to the same place.
With the rail expanded you also get a study timer above the list, starting at 25 minutes of Focus, and Record Lecture, which opens the lecture recorder if your plan includes lecture recordings. On other plans it shows an upgrade prompt instead.
The bar across the top
- Toggle theme switches between Light, Dark and System.
- Sign out ends your session and drops you back at the sign-in page.
- 💸 We pay students sits on the dashboard on a wide screen and opens the ways you can get paid for posting about Due Gooder.
- The floating Contact support bubble sits on every signed-in app page. It reads "For support, please email support@duegooder.com and we'll answer within 24 hours." and gives you Copy support email and Open email app. On the sign-in pages, Contact support is a link in the header instead.
